UFC: Conclusions Las Vegas 57

The lightweight and welterweight have clear threats for the qualifiers after what was seen in the stellar card. Chris Curtis pulled out the fight to neutralize a jiu-jitsu expert like Rodolfo Vieira, Thiago Moses climbed for a submission that revives his status as a 155-pound prospect and Umar Nurmagomedov remains dominant in all of his bantamweight appearances. In the corner coach Khabib was proud and it was the same case with middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who witnessed alongside Alexander Volkanovski the impressive knockout of his teammate Carlos Ullberg in the front row. This was the highlight of UFC Vegas57.

Gamrot took a high-level fight

It was 25 minutes of intense grappling, where neither Mateusz Gamrot and Arman Tsarukyan surrendered the position, also of sophisticated striking, especially on the side of Arman, who resorted to kicks to the body when he could not find the keys with his hands.

Gamrot won the three judges’ scorecards by a minimal difference of one round, helped by the knockdowns and his insistence, especially in rounds 4 and 5 to get a submission, but this fight could have gone either way.

The message is clear for the lightweight category, there is a new generation of fighters who know how to do everything well and after this close fight we could think that the Polish and the Armenian will meet again in the future, when they are much higher in the ranking, because they have plenty of talent.
