UFC 260: Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou make weight for heavyweight championship fight

The fight to define who is the strongest man on the planet is now official, as Miocic and Ngannou weighed in accurately Friday morning for their UFC heavyweight championship bout.

Miocic weighed in at 234 pounds and Ngannou weighed in at 263 pounds at the hearing. Miocic will be tasked with defending his UFC heavyweight championship against Ngannou in the main event of UFC 260 on Saturday at UFC Apex.

This is the second bout between the heavyweights. Miocic defeated Ngannou by unanimous decision to retain the title at UFC 220 on Jan. 20, 2018. Miocic weighed in at 246 pounds for that fight, just as Ngannou weighed in at the same weight as Friday: 263 pounds.

Miocic (20-3) is esteemed as the best heavyweight champion in UFC history and perhaps the best MMA heavyweight of all time. The Ohio native holds the top record for UFC heavyweight title defenses (4). Miocic, 38, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Daniel Cormier in a trilogy fight at UFC 242 last August. He has wins over former UFC heavyweight champions Cormier, Junior dos Santos, Fabricio Werdum and Andrei Arlovski.

Ngannou (11-3) has reeled off four straight wins, all by KO/TKO in the first part of the fight. The Cameroonian, who trains in Las Vegas, is one of the most feared knockout artists in UFC history. Ngannou, 34, has finished those last four fights in 72 seconds or less and has eight first-round finishes in 10 UFC victories.
