Tatis Jr. begins a key stage in his comeback

It’s time for Fernando Tatis Jr. to show how important he is to achieving the goals the San Diego Padres have set for themselves with a series of interesting and aggressive moves.

The organization has put all its efforts into building a competitive team, loaded with stars that can stand up to the organizations that have dominated the most recent campaigns.

Fernando Tatis Jr. is a key piece of the puzzle in their quest to win a World Series crown and put the ghosts of those feelings that they could have done more behind them.

Expectations are sky high and ‘El Niño’ is traveling a path that few have been down, especially at such a young age. He has talent, he has proven it. From being the face of Major League Baseball to seeing his integrity questioned by a suspension that ruined part of the plans in 2022.

Also motorcycle accidents, position changes, injuries, surgeries. Fernando is barely 24 years old and has been through it all.

Now he begins a new stage in his career in which he has to leave behind all the negatives and prove that his talent and dedication is what the Padres needed to win a championship.

For the first time in training camp, Tatis Jr. was lined up as the designated hitter and second in the lineup order for Bob Melvin and the Padres against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

He finished the day with a stolen base that was the “highlight” of his performance after a negotiated walk. He went hitless in his other two innings but the important thing is that he put his figure on the field for the first time since October 2021.

According to reports Tatis Jr will see action this Thursday and will play right field for the first time this preseason. In official play the last time he played in the outfield was in September 2021. As a right fielder on the 17th of that same month.

Fernando Tatis Jr enters a key stage of his career in which he must prove first, that he is healthy, and second, that the Padres can count on all his talent, regardless of the position in which he plays, to achieve that goal so desired by the entire team.
