Reasons not to miss the games week 1

The regular season experiences an exciting first weekend of games between teams that come in as contenders.
The 2021 NFL season kicked off on Thursday night with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ thrilling 31-28 victory over the Dallas Cowboys that was decided in the final seconds.

The action continues this Sunday with duels that promise to be just as exciting and there are even games between teams contending for a spot in the postseason.

We will also see the beginning of a new era for the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots with rookie quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones, respectively, making their debut as starters this weekend.

On the other hand, players such as Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr. and Nick Bosa return to action after missing most of last season with various injuries.

Here are the reasons why you should not miss any of the remaining Week 1 games:

The Falcons begin a new era without Julio Jones as their leading wide receiver, Matt Ryan comes in with pressure to explode early with Calvin Ridley and must take advantage of the advantages the Eagles’ porous defense will give to find a quick rhythm. For Philadelphia it is the first test to see if Justin Fields really is the future of the franchise at the quarterback position or just one of the many bad decisions made by past management.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills:

This is the first playoff-scented game on Sunday, Steelers and Bills could meet again in January, but first they must prove that the great season they had in 2020 was not a mirage, especially for Pittsburgh that benefited from one of the easiest schedules in the NFL and this year will have one of the most complicated. It’s also a chance for Josh Allen to take advantage of the spotlight to start making his case for the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

New York Jets vs Carolina Panthers:

The main storyline of this game is the reunion of now Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold with his former team, he will no doubt be eager to prove the Jets wrong for giving up on him so early and he has the weapons at his disposal in Carolina, including running back Christian McCaffrey, who returns after an injury-plagued campaign.

Minnesota Vikings vs Cincinnati Bengals:

The Bengals will finally be able to get quarterback Joe Burrow back on the field, who was having a record rookie season last year and ended up suffering a devastating knee injury, on the other side is wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who is emerging as the next big star at his position and to get it he must perform similar to 2020.

Seattle Seahawks vs Indianapolis Colts:

Carson Wentz has the opportunity to shine with a team where he knows they trust him, that’s good news for the Colts, the bad news is that they face a Seahawks led by Russell Wilson who look like solid candidates to win their division and go far in the playoffs.

San Francisco 49ers vs Detroit Lions:

The 49ers find a familiar face in this game when they face Jared Goff, who came to the Lions in the offseason in exchange for fellow quarterback Matthew Stafford, the difference is that Goff does not have the backing of a talented roster, as he did in Los Angeles. Now in Detroit he finds a fairly limited roster in terms of talent and it will be difficult for him to stand out, especially with the Niners thirsting for revenge after a 2020 thrown away by injuries.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans:

Trevor Lawrence gets his first real chance in the NFL against a Texans full of doubts after their recent talent purge and the uncertainty surrounding their best player, quarterback Deshaun Watson. Lawrence is likely to make his pro debut with a win and that would only boost his status as Jacksonville’s savior.

Arizona Cardinals vs Tennessee Titans:

The change to a 17-game season gives Derrick Henry the opportunity to become the first running back in history to surpass the 2,000-yard barrier in consecutive years and even set a new mark in that department, but it won’t be easy, especially when he starts the campaign against a dangerous defense like the one assembled by the Cardinals with the presence of quarterbacks J.J. Watt and Chandler Jones, who can allow the rest of the defense to focus on closing the lanes for Henry.
