Rain of Latin finalists for the All-Stars

The Dominicans Juan Soto, José Ramírez, Rafael Devers, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., Marcell Ozuna, Julio Rodríguez and Ketel Marte; the Venezuelans Ronald Acuña, Luis Arráez, José Altuve, Orlando Arcia, William Contreras and Willson Contreras; the Cubans Adolis García, Yordan Álvarez, Yandy Díaz, Randy Arozarena, Luis Robert, JD Martínez and Jorge Soler; The Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, the Mexican Isaac Paredes and the Curacao-born Ozzie Albies were nominated among the last offensive players to choose the MLB All-Star Teams in the 2023 season.

Dominican pitchers Luis Castillo, Framber Valdez, Félix Bautista, Freddy Peralta, Bryan Abreu, Emmanuel Clase, Camilo Doval, Jhoan Durán and Héctor Neris; the Venezuelans Pablo López, Eduardo Rodríguez and Adbert Alzolay; The Cubans Aroldis Chapman, Yennier Canó and Raisel Iglesias, and the Puerto Rican Alexis Díaz, were also preselected, the league reported this Wednesday.

The phenomenal Japanese two-way player, Shohei Ohtani, was nominated as a starting pitcher and Designated Hitter – in the selection created by the MLB commissioner’s office in 2019 to choose the best players of each position in the season, distributed in a first and second team.

Fans can vote for their favorites on the league’s English (mlb.com/allmlb) and Spanish (lasmayores.com/todomlb) portals until 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 19. Teams will be announced on December 19.

The fan vote will count for half of the process, while the rest will be provided by a panel of experts, made up of writers, narrators, former players and managers.
