Muhammad Ali’s grandson debuts with a knockout

Nico Ali Walsh knocked out Jordan Weeks in his debut as a pro boxer in Tulsa
The Muhammad Ali dynasty has a new star.

This Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nico Walsh Ali finished Jordan Weeks in the first round in a middleweight fight.

With cries of “Ali, Ali” echoing through the stands, Nico took control of the ring from the start of the bout and punished Weeks repeatedly.

With 1:10 left in the first round, the referee had to intervene to stop the four round fight.

This is Ali’s first win as a professional, while Weeks fell to 4-2, suffering his second consecutive knockout.

Last July, 20-year-old Nico Ali signed with Top Rank and days before the fight accepted that he felt the pressure for his blood.

“I feel like everyone puts this pressure on me because my grandfather was who he was, but to me, he’s just my grandfather,” Nico sentenced at a press conference. “For everyone else, he’s the best of all time. I think so too, but for me, he’s just my grandfather.”

Ali’s fight was part of the bill headlined by Mexican-American Joshua Franco and Australian Andrew Moloney.
