Michael Jordan’s claim to Towns

The NBA All-Star Game weekend was full of fun and exciting moments, as well as others that left much to be desired (we’re talking about you, dunk contest). The most iconic moment was obviously the halftime show of the game, where legends from all eras who were placed as the top 75 players (in commemoration of the NBA’s 75th anniversary) took the stage, to the applause of all the companies and the delight of those who watched the event.

Of course, no one got more applause than “His Majesty” Michael Jordan, who proved that his popularity is still at levels unattainable by the players present at the event. Then, in the midst of the celebration, the legendary six-time NBA champion was seen approaching several players, including Lebron James, Luka Doncic and Dominican Karl-Anthony Towns.

A video in which Jordan can be seen going to greet Doncic, the Dominican can be seen approaching the player to shake his hand and it is here where, according to Towns, a funny interaction between the two took place.

During a video on the digital platform Twitch, Towns said that since Jordan arrived, he was competitive with everyone, which made the Dominican laugh a lot.

“Before this happened (the video greeting Doncic and Towns) everything was super competitive (with Jordan). Michael told Magic ‘let’s play, you and me right now’ and I could only say ‘wow, Michael stood up choosing violence’,” Towns starts saying amid laughter. Referring to the video, he said, “MJ looked at me and said ‘I remember what you did to my team. I saw what you did to my team, JOD…!’ and all I could say was ‘YES YES YES YES, I love that energy, that’s why you could see me in the video yelling that,” Towns said while laughing out loud.

“And the funniest part of it all is that MJ is so iconic, he’s so competitive, he turns to look at me and yells ‘YES YES YES YES YES!’ He’s so competitive, I love it! I could only say ‘holy crap’.”

Jordan was likely referring to the Feb. 15 game in which Towns scored 39 points and grabbed 15 rebounds en route to a 126-120 overtime victory for the Timberwolves over the Charlotte Hornets, owned by the iconic player.

It was more than evident that the moment made the Dominican player, who will surely have a memory to cherish for the rest of his life, extremely happy.
