Mexican Victor Altamirano will participate in the Contender Series in search of a place in the UFC.

The Dana White Contender Series will once again open its doors to Mexican fighters and ESPN Digital was able to confirm the participation of Victor Altamirano against Brazilian Vinicius Salvador, on July 31, in search of a place in the UFC.

“El Magnifico” Altamirano was born in Mexico City in 1991 and had to migrate to Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 9, when his father suffered an accident that caused his family to receive a humanitarian visa to accompany him in his recovery, as he was immobilized for months.

Altamirano is currently the Legacy Fighting Alliance 125-pound champion, having defeated Nate Smith by unanimous decision on February 19 and is riding a three-fight winning streak. He is 9-1 and eight of his pro fights have been inside the LFA cage, one of the leagues that exports the most talent to the UFC.

His Brazilian opponent, Vinicius Salvador, is 12-4 with all of his fights in local promotions and at 135 pounds. He trains at the same gym as the charismatic Amanda Ribas under the tutelage of Marcelo Ribas.

He has a record of 12-4 with 11 wins by knockout and only one by decision.

In addition to Altamirano, Daniel ‘Golden Boy’ Zellhuber will also fight in this season of Dana White’s Contender Series, as the manager of his opponent, Lucas Almeida, confirmed in his social networks that they have signed a fight within the reality format for September 28.
