Canelo on the road to unification against Plant

Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez will try to become the first Latin American-born fighter to win all four championships in a single division this Saturday, and the betting odds in Las Vegas for his bout with Caleb Plant have him as a solid favorite.

With the World Boxing Association, World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization super middleweight titles in his possession, the product of his victories over Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders last December and May, Canelo will now seek the International Boxing Federation title held by the undefeated Plant since January 2019.

The betting lines have the Jalisco native as favorite with a margin of -1000, which indicates that you have to bet up to a thousand dollars to collect 100 with his victory, while the possible victory of the American Plant is at +625, that is, you need to bet 100 dollars to collect up to 625 with the upset.

The arrival of the boxers is scheduled for Tuesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, venue of the awaited battle for all the 168 lbs. titles. On Wednesday will be the conference of the protagonists of the card, and on Friday, in an event open to the public, they will weigh in at the same venue, prior to what is expected to be a full house at the emerald casino in Sin City.

Canelo Alvarez must win to ratify his position as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, while Plant has assured that a victory would allow him to put his name on the list of possible candidates for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
