49ers are not satisfied with a 2-0 start

The first road series to open the season couldn’t have gone better for the San Francisco 49ers.

Quarterback Brock Purdy appears to have made a full recovery after undergoing offseason surgery and his offense worked like he did at the end of last season. The defense adjusted to new coordinator Steve Wilks and hasn’t taken a step back.

All of this has the team at 2-0 after Sunday’s 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams and has drawn praise, even if the Niners believe there’s a lot to figure out.

“We have a lot to do,” coach Kyle Shanahan said. “I thought we did it last week. “Hopefully we get a little better next week and it continues for the rest of the year.”

The win over the Rams wasn’t as easy as it was against Pittsburgh in Week 1, when San Francisco led 20-0 before the Steelers got their first conversion on a first down.

San Francisco had trouble stopping Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense early and trailed 17-10 in the second quarter. But Purdy led a 75-yard drive with 1:45 left to tie the game and dominated the second half.

The Niners scored on three of the first five possessions of the second half, including an 11-yard run by Deebo Samuel and two interceptions to Stafford to take control.
