Bills’ Miller injures knee against Lions
Miller suffered the injury with less than three minutes left in the first half when he appeared to get caught on a first-and-10 play for the Detroit Lions at the Bills’ 16-yard line. He quickly took a knee and spent a couple of minutes talking to the physical trainers on the field. He spent several minutes in the team’s medical tent on the sideline before being removed and taken to the locker room.
Detroit scored a touchdown on the series before Bills kicker Tyler Bass kicked a 47-yard field goal to take a 17-14 halftime lead.
The quarterback is in his first year with the Bills and 12th in the NFL. He leads the team in catches with eight. He had a tackle and a hit on the quarterback before leaving the game. Miller entered Week 12 ranked second in the NFL with 37 pressures, behind only Micah Parsons (44).
The injury comes at a difficult time for a small group of Bills defensive wings. Both Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa, the team’s top quarterbacks after Miller, are inactive with ankle injuries. The remaining active defensive wings for the Bills are Shaq Lawson, Boogie Basham and practice squad player Mike Love, who was promoted for today’s game.
