Steelers make an attempt on their history

  1. Only the Vikings could have managed to leave a crucial victory for their playoff aspirations with a bitter taste in their mouths. After a phenomenal first half, with great offensive line work and Dalvin Cook, they almost squandered a 29-point lead. Winning is an art.

2- Rashaad Penny has suffered a lot of injuries and has been an absolute disappointment since being picked in the first round of the 2018 draft. Healthy, he had one of the best games of his career and could be vital to maintaining Seattle’s few remaining aspirations.

  1. The Texans’ ground attack is non-existent. Davis Mills completed his first 14 passes, and while the rookie quarterback cooled off as the game progressed, the final four games will go a long way in determining whether or not he will be a part of the Texans’ future.
  2. The Browns won a vital game to keep dreaming, but once again struggled to close out the game. Baker Mayfield looked better after the rest day, but they struggled to run against Baltimore. In my eyes, Myles Garrett is the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year.
  3. The resilience of the Ravens is to be commended, given that while they lose important pieces every week, they never give up. Now, however, they are lighting candles for Lamar Jackson’s ankle, because without him, they are going nowhere and they have four tough games left.
  4. Alvin Kamara returned after four games, and the Saints offense finally showed some explosiveness; the running back finished with 145 yards and a touchdown. However, they faced the worst defense in the NFL, and Taysom Hill continues to be unreliable as a passer.
  5. Zach Wilson completed just 45 percent of his passes, and most of his yards came in garbage time. Although in fairness, without Elijah Moore and Corey Davis, the rookie quarterback doesn’t have much help. The Jets have now gone 11 consecutive seasons without qualifying for the playoffs.
  6. No defense is playing better than the Chiefs right now. They forced five more turnovers against the Raiders and scored a touchdown; they’ve allowed less than 10 points on average in last six games. Kansas City is starting to look better with each passing week.
  7. Despite mathematically staying alive, it’s starting to look good to see a total overhaul in Las Vegas, and that includes general manager Mike Mayock and quarterback Derek Carr. The Raiders’ lone high point has been wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
  8. For some reason, the Falcons have been more effective playing away. They topped 100 yards on the ground for the third straight game, the defense generated three turnovers and despite having a lot of holes, Altanta is still in the playoff conversation.
  9. Matt Rhule fired offensive coordinator Joe Brady, but the problems on offense continue because you opted for Sam Darnold and then Cam Newton. Even P.J. Walker saw action, and the quarterback management plus three losses in a row could put Rhule on the hot seat.
  10. The Titans defense recorded four interceptions and the front seven put good pressure on Trevor Lawrence all afternoon. The offense doesn’t scare anyone and they continue to beat up on Ryan Tannehill too much, but Derrick Henry could return in Week 18.
  11. A rookie quarterback’s confidence can disappear in the blink of an eye and Trevor Lawrence is getting beaten more and more, and he’s immediately making more and more mistakes. Urban Meyer has become a distraction who looks like he wants to get fired and get paid.
  12. Randy Gregory has been one of the Cowboys’ top three defensive players this season. The defense generated four losses and carried the team on his shoulders, considering the offense almost gave away an incredible game. The division is practically his.
  13. When Washington can’t run effectively, they are exposed to the offense’s deficiencies. Taylor Heinicke played his worst game of the year and injured his knee. Without Terry McLaurin (concussion) and J.D. McKissic, they lack explosiveness on offense. They need to get healthy.
