Colbert vs. Nyambayar on Saturday

The World Boxing Association (WBA) interim super featherweight champion, American Chris “Primetime” Colbert, will defend his title this Saturday, when he faces Mongolian challenger Tugstsogt Nyambayar, in the main bout of a card to be held at the Dignity Health Sports Park, in Carson, California, United States.

The bout, promoted by the Premier Boxing Champions series, will be broadcast on Showtime.

This fight will take place on the weekend of the Independence Day celebration in the United States, making it one of the few fights of interest to be held in the North American nation.

Colbert has a professional record of 15-0, with half a dozen knockouts. He won the WBA interim title on January 18, 2020, when he defeated former Panamanian world champion Jezzrel Corrales and made a first defense last December by knocking out fellow Panamanian Jaime Arboleda in the eleventh round.

In the case of “King Tug” Nyambayar, he has a record of 12-1, with 9 knockouts. He lost his undefeated record in February last year, when he lost to Gary Allen Russell Jr, but came back in September to defeat Cobia Breedy, by split decision.

On this card to be held in Carson, California, undefeated Dominican lightweight Michel Rivera (20-0, 13 KOs) will face Spain’s Jon Fernandez (21-1, 18 KOs) in a WBA eliminator.
