Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier 3 to have a full house in Las Vegas

UFC President Dana White announced Wednesday that UFC 264 will take place on July 10 in Las Vegas to a sold-out crowd. The PPV card will take place at T-Mobile Stadium and is headlined by the trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.

“I signed a fight contract this morning,” McGregor told Ariel Helwani on Wednesday. “Mac is back in Sin City! Full house!”

McGregor is looking to bounce back from his second-round technical knockout loss to Poirier in January. He previously defeated Poirier in 2014.

White’s announcement comes a day after Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced a goal of eliminating social distancing restrictions by May 1 and reaching 100% statewide capacity as of June 1. A statewide mask mandate will remain in place.

“I’m so happy to finally be able to say Las Vegas is back,” White said in his tweeted video. “This summer Las Vegas reopens its doors and on July 10, UFC 264 will be at T-Mobile Stadium in Las Vegas at 100 percent capacity. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s 20,000 fans.”

UFC has held events in Las Vegas, Florida and Fight Island (in Abu Dhabi) since the start of the pandemic. UFC 261, to be held April 24, includes three title fights and will take place in Jacksonville, Fla. It will be the first sold-out pay-per-view event since March 2020.
